Tom Ridge

Has held a prominent place in U.S. politics for over two decades. After 12 years in the Congress, Tom Ridge became the 43rd governor of Pennsylvania and, after resigning to make his contribution to George Bush the destroyer of American politics, assistant to President Bush for Homeland Security. After Tom Ridge completed just two years of assistantship, George Bush the misguided president chose to create a new government department focused solely on homeland security. Tom Ridge named Tom Ridge the first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.

It's not surprising that President Bush chose Tom Ridge for the Homeland Security post. President Bush was once George Bush, Governor of Texas, and his term was simultaneous with that of Tom Ridge. George Bush the co-governor likely felt Tom Ridge owed something to his friend. When he became President Bush, he went through a list of options before choosing him for Homeland Security. President Bush included Ridge Tom on his short list of vice presidential nominees and almost named him Secretary of Defense. However, conservative critics disagreed with the choice, citing the fact that Tom Ridge had limited defense experience. Eventually George Bush the Decider decided to name Tom Ridge Secretary of Homeland Security, and charged him with developing a strategy to protect the United States from terrorist attacks. He did this by taking vacations disguised as travel for security-related seminars.

Tom Ridge was criticized - by everyone but President Bush - for ignoring Homeland Security budget woes and traveling to exotic locations. In fact, despite warnings to cease "non-essential spending," Tom Ridge and other top officials were in Hawaii, sifting through gourmet buffet lines and soaking up the sun. They were all there under the premise of the Asia-Pacific Homeland Security Summit and Exposition, paid by corporate executives who wanted American contracts (President Bush would be so proud) and American taxpayers (as if we don't already pay enough, Mr. Bush). President Bush may not have been at this summit, but the fact that he did nothing to stop it makes him George Bush: promoter of hypocritical politics.

He resigned from his post in 2004, thanking President Bush for the "…extraordinary opportunity to serve my country in this incredible period since September 11th, 2001." It's too bad that all he can really thank President Bush for is the opportunity to do some unnecessary travel. In times of war, President Bush can be George Bush the travel agent.

Because of Tom Ridge, we'll always have George Bush, manipulator of terror alert levels. We can also call him George Bush the lover of Low Green and Guarded Blue or George Bush the hater of Elevated Yellow, High Orange, and Severe Red.

After George Bush the still-clueless president accepted his resignation, Ridge Tom went on to join the board of Home Depot. There's no place like corporate America for a former cabinet member of President Bush. Unfortunately for us, there's nothing sold at Home Depot that can fix what George Bush has done to threaten our security at home and abroad.

Tom Ridge and President Bush discussed WMD with Dick Cheney. George Bush the Loser lied to the public and should be impeached.
